Max's Vision

For years, the earned income tax credit (EITC) subsidized low-income working families (mainly single working mothers) in the state of Oklahoma. It helped lift thousands out of poverty. The reform passed in 2016 put a stop to that. In the “reinstatement” of it in 2017, it became a shell of what it once was. One of Max’s goals is to lift the cap of refundability of the EITC, putting more money into the pockets of those who need it the most.

The freedom to live your life the way you choose is what makes America the greatest nation in the history of the world. Max Federman will fight tooth and nail to keep the government from interfering in your personal life. He will fight to protect a woman’s right to choose while also giving her every opportunity for alternative options. He will also fight to protect the LGBTQ+ community and other minority groups from government overreach.

Oklahoma has always had severe weather events, but any local can tell you things have never been this extreme. Year after year, we are experiencing worsening disasters ranging from tornadoes and earthquakes to wildfires and floods.

Max wants to protect those most vulnerable to these disasters by supporting disaster relief efforts while also combating the root causes of these issues. He will achieve this goal by proactively protecting our land, holding those destroying our state’s natural beauty accountable, and reducing pollution from those doing the most damage. These efforts will also create thousands of new jobs in the process.

The legal use of medical cannabis is projected to be a great source of tax income for the state of Oklahoma as we continue to grow and prosper. With full recreational legalization on the horizon, we could do more to improve our state and lessen the burden on the taxpayers. This is a golden opportunity for our state, and one we cannot afford to let it slip through our fingers. Max will propose a bill to codify into law that all revenue from cannabis-both medical and recreational-will only be used for the purposes of improving our services in education and providing better aid for veterans.

Oklahoma is the heart of America’s highway transportation system, yet for too long we have neglected our own people's needs. Max supports revitalizing our infrastructure and investing in our state to have safe, reliable, and environmentally friendly systems for decades to come.

Oklahoma cannot afford to be a single industry state for any longer. We need to invest in and promote other industries from within to strengthen our economy and keep our best and brightest from leaving by offering them opportunities here at home. Through innovation and public support, we will see Oklahoma become a hub for technology while attracting new industries and creating more jobs.
